The original route of the Camino Primitivo was unfortunately modified due to the construction of the A-63 motorway.
The settlements you will pass today include Cabruñana, Santa Eulalia de Dóriga, Cornellana, Quintana, Casazorrina, and Salas.
The second stage of the Camino Primitivo is one of the easiest ones, the route is not long, can be done in less than five hours, and is easy to follow as you will mostly go along the Nonaya river.
In Cornellana you can find the San Salvador de Cornellana monastery, dating back to the 11th century. There is a possibility to spend the night in this monastery if you are tired.
If you go along to Salas you will encounter the 16th-century gothic Santa María La Mayor church, a palace and a medieval tower, and a one-arch bridge. Salas is a beautiful small town with all the amenities needed and makes a great stop for the night.
