This stage is pretty monotonous with little shade so make sure to bring lots of water with you especially that you will not pass through many villages. In fact today, until Ruesta you will only pass through Artieda (where many pilgrims decide to spend the night as well).
After Artieda, there will be no other settlement until Ruesta, over 10 kilometers away. Stocking up today is necessary as the first stretch of 18 kilometers can be exhausting.
Ruesta is an atypical village as well. It has no permanent inhabitants as the village was abandoned in 1959. However, the local government manages a pilgrim hostel and a bar there.
