This section of the French Way follows closely the N120 road. This day is generally considered an easier one and its total length is almost 23 kilometers.
Leaving Santo Domingo you will cross River Oja through the Puente del Santo (Saint’s Bridge) that Saint Dominic built centuries ago. This bridge has 16 arches and is 148 meters long. You will follow closely the N-120 road and then you will take a left turn to get to the first village of Granon. This is the last village that you will pass through the state of La Rioja.
From here on, a descent follows and in two kilometers you will reach the La Rioja – Castilla Leon border. Soon afterward you will pass through another tiny village, Redecilla del Camino.
On this day you will encounter many villages on your way so it is not important to stock up on water as soon after Redecilla del Camino you will reach Castildelgado, Viloria de la Rioja, Villamayor del Rio, and finally Belorado.
To arrive in Belorado from Santo Domingo de la Calzada the Camino passes through these places: Ermita de Carrasquedo (Grañón), Grañón, Redecilla del Camino, Castildelgado, Viloria de Rioja, Quintanilla del Monte, Villamayor del Río, Belorado. Click here to Book Your Stay!
