This is one of the longer walking days as the distance to be walked today amounts to over 37 kilometers, but it is not a difficult day as the surface will be mostly flat.
Before leaving make sure you stock up on all the things you might need as the next settlement, Calzadilla de la Cueza will be very far away – over 16 kilometers. You will also walk on a road with little shade so make sure to bring enough water with you, especially during the summer months. This road that you will walk on until you reach Calzadilla is the old Roman Road that connected Astorga to Bordeaux.
The Albergue is located at the entrance of this tiny village and here you can find water as well as a swimming pool.
From here on, you will pass through villages more frequently. Next stop, Ledigos is six kilometers away followed by Terradillos de Templarios two and a half kilometers away, Moratinos three kilometers away, and San Nicolas del Real Camino.
Sahagún is seven kilometers away from San Nicolas del Real Camino and you can find most amenities here. Sahagun is the place where the Camino de Madrid joins the Camino Frances as well. Once you reached this place you have covered more than half of the Camino Frances from Roncesvalles to Santiago.
