El Burgo Ranero is a typical small town on the Way, with a crossing main street.
This town is characterized by having two roads. One road runs along the old Via Trajana that deviates from Coto and passes through Calzadilla de los Hermanillos towards Mansilla de las Mulas, where it joins the other route, the Camino Francés, which crosses the town from Sahagún, Calzada del Coto and Bercianos del Real Camino.
The buildings located in the urban section of the Camino preserve the traces of the economic and cultural heyday that it experienced in ancient times.
After leaving El Burgo Ranero, the Camino continues on one of its longest uninhabited stretches, thus it is best to get all the things here as until Mansilla de las Mulas, a pilgrim will only pass next to the village of Villamarco.
