Rabanal del Camino is located at the foot of Mount Irago, in the province of León. The road from Astorga to Rabanal del Camino is quite demanding, thus many pilgrims opt to stay overnight in Rabanal, while some will choose to power through to Foncebadón to shorten the distance to walk the next day.
Besides the romanesque Santa María church and the 18th-century hermitage of San José, another sight of the town is the recently built monastery of Santa Otilia de Munich (Germany), which provides service for pilgrims.
